The most important takeaway when considering the history of UML is that it is the work of a large number of individuals over the course of many decades. Once a fragmented area of software development that had over 50 methods developed by different engineers, the three amigos were able to consolidate them into a unified language that is still being improved and continues to be a critical method for both software and process modeling in the enterprise community.
Unresolved: Once we review and approve something, how do we freeze it/govern updates? Do we need to seal the package? What is the workflow/approval process? This discussion has happened at different times, and perhaps some of it is in the Vancouver report. There was no resolution. TC will review the documents and see if they need to be updated, if they are consistent, to get a sense of where we are, and develop a coherent document.
